The Yak-42 jet carrying Lokomotiv Yaroslavl ice-hockey team terribly crashed and burst into flame after its taking off near Yaroslavl, some 300 km from Moscow, Russia on Wednesday, September 7, 2011. The accident has left at least 43 people dead. The reason of this awful flight crash is still unknown. There are only two survivors including Russian forward Alexander Galimov and flight crew member Alexander Sizov who have suffered serious from the burn. The whole team traveled to perform their first match of the new Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) season.
