Most impressive news during the last 24 hours include drought and violence rage in Somalia’s largest city, Chinese hungry ghost festival, Deopokhari festival and 34th anniversary of the death of Elvis Presley.

In the Chinese tradition, the seventh month of the lunar year is considered the Ghost Month. Chinese always believe that the gates of hell are opened during the month and the dead ancestors return to visit their relatives. During this festival, prayers are offered to the dead and offerings of food and paper-made models of items such as televisions, refrigerators and sport cars are burnt to appease the wandering spirits.

On Tuesday 16, a cable car containing tourists was stranded between the Jochpass and Stand above Engelberg, Switzerland because of a malfunction of an emergency brake.
