According to Indian law, the legal marriage age is 18, but child marriages in the country are very common, especially in poor, rural regions. Around 47 percent of women aged between 20 and 24 were got married before 18. In fact, child marriages are stealing the innocence of millions of girls worldwide and bringing them into poverty, poor health and ignorance.
